2. A teacher expert in transcendental knowledge, who also may
initiate disciples.
3. A person representing a certain philosophical position.
4. A title that can be used together with a proper name, indicating
a certain degree of learning. Example:
Bhaskara-âcârya (b. 1114), one of India's greatest mathematicians and astronomers.
